Darren and Richard Ryall

Backbone club stars for Halverstown CC over many valued years. Darren with his flighted left arm swinging off spinners and Richard (Ripper) with his very accurate right arm medium pace bowling. Darren is an able and hard hitting middle order batsman and Richard can open or be a difficult to dismiss stubborn middle order batsman. Richard was a season or two ago, incorrectly given out caught behind, while opening against Pembroke with the ball clipping a cigarette packet in his pocket which sounded like a snick!

Andrew Greene

Star Halverstown right arm all rounder - busy with studies and exam preparation at present.  Right arm fast bowler who is able to take wickets and break partnerships. Andrew is also a very fit outfielder and good close bat slip or covers player

Dermot Page:

Excellent and able batsmen and handy spinner who has also Captained the side in previous seasons. Dermot has made some very big scores over the years. Picture taken at Leinster CC 14 May 2006.

Robbie Devenish:

All rounder and great right arm attacking fast bowler and opening batsmen/number 3. Rob started out and trained/played as a wicket keeper in his younger years and played provincially in South Africa for Griquas in Kimberley. He may be rested from bowling  duties for the 2009 season and used as keeper during fielding due to a back strain. We will need to rely on his batting and especially driving prowess

Henry Young:

A much experienced all rounder. Able to open the batting and face both pace and spin attacks, Henry also provides middle order stability to Halverstown's lineup. He is a very able swing bowler and close fielder with great reflexes. Having cut his teeth playing for Halverstown at our original home field, Henry brings a wealth of experience and balance to the team. His 2009 playing season  will be considerably foreshortened, due to his UK based work commitments. We will miss his  guile plus enthusiasm,  and  look forward to his return and   availability for selection.

Matthew Pitt: Just returned from working abroad, Matthew is our much talented opening strike bowler capable of a fifer on any given day. He achieved 8-0-3-31 without any practice in Halverstown's opening game win against Phoenix away on Sunday last - no mean feat.  He is a very capable fielder and is not afraid to put his body on the line when stopping fours near the boundary. The picture above was taken on 17 July 2006 when he again got three wickets at home. Matthew's batting is cavalier and he certainly connects with a heavy bat when on song. We are pleased he appeared out of the blue on Saturday and offered to play at short notice on Sunday and his bowling performance was  pivotal in Halverstown's deserved win. Our 2009 seasons results prospects have been much improved due to his valued return after many months of him being away.

Paddy Dowling

Ace Halverstown accurate medium pace bowler and no slouch with the bat. Has given many years of club service and is always a welcome addition to any HCC selected team.
